FAQ

Frequently asked questions. Please call me if you have any other questions or would like some advice on products or hair styling.

What are the benefits of having a mobile hairdresser?

You can receive the same high standard hair treatment without having to drive to a salon, pay for parking, wait around or arrange childcare. A lot of children feel more comfortable having their haircut at home and once they have had their haircut, they do not have to wait for siblings in a busy salon. It also take away the stress, for people with busy schedules who may not have time to get their hair done during conventional salon opening hours or with limited mobility. Some people simply feel uncomfortable in a salon environment and feel able to communicate more openly in their own space.

Do I need to supply anything?

I will provide everything needed, shampoo, conditioner, towels, a range of products, mirror, stool, hairdryer, straighteners, tongs etc.

Which room is best for the service?

I usually like to work in the kitchen due to abundance of plug sockets, work surface and hard floor to sweep up.

How will you wash my hair?

Forward over the kitchen sink so you don't have to bend your back, using a washing up bowl and jug, or kneeling on the floor at the side of the bath, using a shower head.

Should I wash my hair before you arrive?

I like to see your hair dry first to analyse the condition and to see how you normally wear it, but once i have met you, you are welcome to wash it before, i can either spray it down or wash it for you. However for colours, hair must always be dry but clean (wash the day before).

Why do I need a skin test before a colour?

To protect you from experiencing an allergic reaction which can be severe. It also gives me the opportunity to meet you and choose a colour from the shade chart.

How can I pay?

Cash, card payment (small fee), or bank transfer to be made at time of appointment. Cheque if cannot get out and about, e.g if elderly or disabled.
